FastTrack, a global technical alliance among 12 Copyright Societies in 11 countries

FastTrack SAS is a global technical alliance among 12 Music Copyright Shareholder societies in 10 different countries (8 in Europe, 1 in Canada and 2 in the United States).

FastTrack was founded in 2000 in order to build a global, decentralized network that allows our Shareholder societies to share data on copyright documentation for musical and audio-visual works, and to streamline internal operations.

FastTrack itself is not a collecting organization. It does not, for example, grant licences or collect royalties for the use of copyright-protected works. The sharing of technological expertise and development costs, combined with the power of a network computing architecture using the Internet, is delivering substantial benefits for the creators and rights-owners represented by FastTrack Shareholder societies.

Its accomplishments to date prove that the societies can benefit from economies of scale without giving up any measure of independence. The FastTrack technical and organizational model emphasizes low overhead and flexibility, taking advantage of the latest developments in the fields of technology and communication.

FastTrack has achieved these goals through a commitment to speed, simplicity, efficiency, and the sharing of best practices through to the creative use of advanced information technology.

FastTrack success is built on a spirit of openness, trust and joint ownership, re-enforced by a model of a decentralized management system that respects cultural differences.

Dozens of experts in FastTrack Shareholder societies are involved in the development of the various products, and thousands of staff members in the Shareholder societies are using the FastTrack tools on a daily basis.

The 6-person Fast Track headquarters team is based in Paris, France headed by Chris van Houten Directeur Général.
