What We Do : Our Business

FastTrack's main mission is to propose solutions to help its Shareholders (Copyright organizations) in their daily business and technical operations. The main benefit of the FastTrack copyright network is rapid and more efficient copyright documentation, permitting timely and accurate royalty distributions.

The Global Documentation and Distribution Network, formerly known as GDDN, is the first and most significant tool developed by FastTrack. The goal of this tool is to provide a global and interconnected network of documentation tools pertaining to the identification of musical works, audio-visual works, creators and agreements information. In this way, GDDN assists the Shareholder societies in the timely and accurate distribution of royalties. The GDDN now provides access to more than 40 million works to the FastTrack Shareholders. It incorporates international standards such as the ISWC (International Standard musical Works Code) identifier.

FastTrack and CISAC (the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers) have signed a Master Agreement to provide the GDDN architecture to all CISAC member societies. The network was opened to the CISAC community in the second quarter of 2005, allowing all CISAC member societies to consult the national repertoires of the databases connected to the 'CIS-Net powered by FastTrack'. This FastTrack technology has allowed CISAC member societies to perform real-time searches on information available through CIS-Net anywhere in the world, at any time of the day.

The ISWC-Net has also been developed by FastTrack on behalf of CISAC in its role as the ISO-appointed international agency for the International Standard Musical Work Code (ISWC). With the opening of ISWC-Net at www.iswc.org, the public can obtain key information such as ISWC Code, title, author, and composer of millions of musical works on the ISWC network.
